What show did I see? Those who follow me on Twitter already know, but here are the lyrics of my second favorite song in the show.

I guess, after my post about my fears about people judging me by appearances below, it shouldn't be surprising why that song in particular would touch my heart, but it does, every single time.
Not as much as this song, though...
"Defying Gravity" is a song that can teach us all a great deal about trusting our instincts and taking leaps of all kinds.
So yeah, I'm into musical theatre.
My favorite musical theatre artist without a doubt is Stephen Sondheim. I pretty much love everything he has ever done in his lifetime, including Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George, Passion, and many many others. He's a genius. I was very honored by meeting him at a big birthday tribute to him at the Hollywood Bowl. I went up to him and just told him how pleased I was to be there to celebrate his life and his work. He's an amazing artist, and I know the world has been changed for him being in it.
My favorite non-Sondheim musicals from recent years are Avenue Q (one of my favorite musicals of all time, truth be told), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Wicked, but I love lots of older musicals too (Guys and Dolls, Pajama Game, many others).
I am just a dork for Broadway, I guess. And off-Broadway. And off-off-Broadway. Yay theatre!
